Our Syringe Access Program (SAP) in Summit County provides respectful, judgment-free services to support people who use substances, and to strengthen the health and well-being of the entire community.

Harm Reduction Services

Our Syringe Access Program in Summit County provides free, confidential services designed to reduce harm and support individual and community health.

Everything we offer is grounded in compassion and dignity—no ID or insurance required.

Safer Use Supplies

Supporting safer practices and reducing the risk of infection or injury for people who use drugs.

  • Sterile Syringes – Clean syringes for people who inject drugs to reduce the risk of HIV, hepatitis C, and other blood-borne infections.

  • Safer Smoking Kits – Supplies that reduce harm for people who smoke substances, including glass stems, rubber tips, screens, and lip balm.

  • Safer Snorting Kits – Equipment to reduce the risk of nasal damage and disease transmission for people who snort substances.

  • Syringe Disposal – On-site disposal and sharps containers to encourage safe, responsible disposal of used supplies and keep the community safe.

Overdose Prevention & Testing Services

Equipping people with tools that save lives.

  • Naloxone (Narcan) – A fast-acting medication that reverses opioid overdoses. Free kits and hands-on training available.

  • Fentanyl Test Strips – Easy-to-use strips to test substances for fentanyl, a leading cause of overdose deaths.

  • Xylazine Test Strips – Detects the presence of xylazine, a non-opioid sedative increasingly found in illicit drug supplies.

  • Benzo Test Strips – Detect the presence of benzodiazepines (like Xanax or Valium) in substances, helping prevent accidental overdose when these are mixed with opioids or other depressants.

  • Overdose Prevention Education – Learn how to recognize signs of overdose and respond effectively to keep people alive.

Sexual Health Services

Because whole-person health includes sexual wellness.

  • Free STI Testing – Fast, confidential testing with same-day results—no insurance, ID, or payment required.

  • Pregnancy Tests – Free and confidential, available on request.

  • Safer Sex Kits – Includes internal and external condoms (latex and non-latex), lubricant, and educational materials.

Meeting people where they are and helping them take the next step when they’re ready.

  • Treatment Referrals – Personalized support connecting people to substance use and mental health treatment and recovery services.

  • Primary & Mental Health Care – Referrals to inclusive, supportive care providers.

  • HIV & Hepatitis C Testing & Treatment – Connections to testing, treatment, and ongoing care.

  • Social Services Support – Help navigating housing, food access, and other community resources.

Whether it’s your first time or your 50th, our team is here to support you. Here’s what a visit to our program might look like:

Health Navigation & Referrals

  • No ID or insurance needed

  • Arrive at your scheduled appointment time and talk with a team member if you want 

  • Rest assured that your visit is completely confidential & private

  • Pick up supplies or get tested

  • Ask questions—about anything from safer use to treatment options

  • Schedule an appointment to come back whenever you want or need to!
